What does patio cleaning involve?

Yorkshire weather is kind to moss and algae. Shaded corners, north-facing gardens and paving under trees can turn green and slippery within a couple of seasons, and dirt builds up in the texture of the stone until the whole patio looks dull and tired.

Our patio cleaning service brings paving back to life. We start by clearing debris and treating moss, lichen and algae, then pressure wash the surface methodically so the finish is even rather than striped. Pressure and nozzle choice are matched to the material, because softer natural stone and older concrete flags need more care than modern porcelain.

Cleaning often exposes joints that have washed out or gone soft. Where paving is laid on sand joints, we can re-sand them afterwards; where the joints are mortar, we can repoint any failed sections as part of the same visit. Once the patio is clean and dry, we can also apply an optional sealer to help keep stains and growth at bay for longer.

The result is a patio that looks cared for, is safer to walk on and is easier to keep clean through the year.
